What is Machining?

The machining process involves the use of machine tools to shape and finish raw materials, such as metal, plastic, or wood, into finished products or parts of desired geometry. Some common machining processes include turning, milling, drilling, grinding, and sawing. These processes can be performed manually or with the use of automated machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines.
